A: No, no snacking. I wouldn't want to get the book all dirty.
Q: What is your favorite drink while reading?
A: Water. I'm almost always drinking water or cranberry juice with seltzer.
Q: Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?
A: Ahh! ::Librarian Katie falls over:: I've actually never written in a book. I like to keep my things nice and neat. My parents were sticklers about taking care of my stuff.
Q: How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ear? Laying the book open flat?
A: I use a bookmark. Once again not a bender of books. I have a Harry Potter one with Hagrid (from Harry Potter). I also have a silver one with an angel hanging off the end my mom got it for me.
Q: Fiction, Non-fiction, or Both?
A: I have been a fiction person forever. Well until recently, I'm starting to branch out and read non-fiction.
Q: Are you a person who tends to read to the end of a chapter, or you can stop anywhere?
A: I'm not that crazy! lol I'll stop when I'm ready.
Q: Are you a person to throw a book across the room or on the floor if it irritates you
A: A bit dramatic, but no book tossing for me. I usually finish a book even if I do not like it. Then I realize what a waste of my time it was.
Q: If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop and look it up right away?
A: I'll be honest as a child/teen I didn't. I kept going on my little way and kept reading. Now though I do. Well okay I would before when reading any Jane Austin novel because if you can make it through that with no dictionary kudos to you and your vocab. But now I look up any words that I'm not sure about. I do have an app on my iPhone for a dictionary which helps.
Q: What are you currently reading:
A: MagicKeepers book 2 by Erica Kirov

Q: What is the last book you bought?
A: Beyond text books for grad school which I don't think count. I never buy books, I obviously get them from the library. But I bought my dad the Red Book by Carl Jung. Carl Jung is a famous psychologist ( he was besties with Freud till they had a disagreement) and they released a new book about his diaries.
Q: Are you a person that reads one book at a time , or can you read more than one?
A: I read one book at a time. I usually start slow a few pages here and there, then I just read it through. I don't like starting to many books because then I'm losing pieces of the story.
Q: Do you have a favorite time/place to read?
A: I enjoy reading at home on my couch or in bed, very comfy, cozy spots. I also like to read at this cute vegan bakery in Keyport called Papa Ganache. I can read at anytime! I just can't read when people are talking really loud.
Q: Do you prefer series or stand alone titles?
A: It depends, I like both. That answers that question beautifully. Some books are so good on there own. Their words echo in my mind. Other times series can really stay with you. They become people you know, places your use too. So both please!
Q: Is there a specific book or author that you find yourself recommending over and over?
A: It's funny because in the children's area I rarely get asked what I suggest on my own opinions. I'm usually trying to find out what someone wants to read or likes to read. But since you asked... I loved Ronald Dahl as a child. His stories are so quirky and intresting. Harry Potter has a nice place in my heart. I read it when I was 12 and loved it! I went through a poetry phase as a kid, so I loved Shel Silverstein.
